The Group 2 QTC Cup is set to take place at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday June 2, 2012.
Run over a distance of 1,300 metres, the 2012 QTC Cup takes place under open quality conditions.
The 2012 QTC Cup is worth $175,000 in prize money and is open to horses of all ages.
Held on the Queensland Oaks Day, the 2012 QTC Cup shares its program with the Group 1 Queensland Oaks, Group 2 Dane Ripper Quality, Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup, Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes, Listed Daybreak Lover and Listed Spear Chief Handicap.
Torio’s Quest is set to run in the 2012 QTC Cup after finishing last in the Group 2 Canterbury Stakes in his only start this year.
However, trainer Brett Partelle feels the four-year-old is back to his best after showing his true colours in a recent barrier trail.
“He went terrific,” Partelle said.
“He settled way back and hit the line with huge gusto. Hughie (Bowman) was very happy with him and I was very happy.
“He’s very close to being back at his top.”
The 2012 QTC Cup will be Torio’s Quest’s second run of the winter before he takes on the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap on June 9, 2012.
“He’ll then go into the Stradbroke the following week,” Partelle said.
