Hot Snitzel To Reclaim Winning Form In 2013 QTC Cup

May 30th, 2013

Hot Snitzel will look to get his winter campaign back on track when he runs in the 2013 QTC Cup this weekend.

The four-year-old is out to bounce back from his 13th placing in the Listed Prime Minister’s Cup last start, which left trainer Gerald Ryan stumped.

Prior to that run, Hot Snitzel won the Group 3 Sebring Stakes by an impressive two and a half lengths at the Gold Coast on April 6, 2013.

Hot Snitzel was ready to contest the BRC Sprint last weekend, however, a stable incident prevented the gelding from competing.

“Before the BRC Sprint he kicked out and the toe clip of his shoe went into his foot,” trainer Gerald Ryan said.

“He is a smart horse but sometimes he does dumb things.

“He galloped well on Wednesday and again on Saturday so hopefully nothing goes wrong this time.”

He will now look to ensure his place in the $1.35 million Stradbroke Handicap on June 8, 2013.

“Nash Rawiller will ride him and if he happened to win then we would seriously look at the Stradbroke.”

Hot Snitzel has won six of his 20 race starts and has earned more than $720,000 in prize money during his horse racing career.
